Powering Chicago Sponsors “Driving Future Leaders” Event at the 2025 Chicago Auto Show
CHICAGO, Feb. 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Powering Chicago, the labor-management partnership between IBEW Local 134 and the Electrical Contractors’ Association of the City of Chicago, is sponsoring the “Driving Future Leaders: Automotive Career Day” at the 2025 Chicago Auto Show. Scheduled for February 12, from 10:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., this event is designed to engage students with career opportunities in the automotive and electrical industries while connecting them with industry experts and leaders.
Taking place at McCormick Place from February 8–17, 2025, the Chicago Auto Show, now in its 117th year, is one of the largest and most renowned auto expositions in North America. In addition to the “Driving Future Leaders” event, attendees will experience interactive exhibits and groundbreaking technology, including expanded EV test tracks and the 20th anniversary of Camp Jeep.

Event Highlights
The “Driving Future Leaders” program offers students a unique opportunity to explore career paths, engage with professionals, and gain hands-on experience through the following:
- Teen Innovation Summit: An interactive, engaging session powered by Toyota and the Toyota Lexus Minority Owners Dealership Association to inspire creativity and exploration.
- Panels and Discussions: Insights from experts at Northwood University and Women in Automotive about industry trends and career opportunities. A Powering Chicago representative will be in attendance to discuss Powering Chicago’s apprenticeship program, highlighting pathways into the electrical industry for students interested in skilled trades.
- Networking and Exhibits: Structured networking sessions and access to the latest innovations, test tracks, and interactive displays.
