Materion Announces Changes to End Market Reporting

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Materion Corporation (NYSE: MTRN) today announced changes in how the Company will report global end market value-added sales performance based on the ongoing refinement of One Materion commercial excellence go-to-market strategy. The changes reflect new processes designed to enable the Company to better serve global customers and growth markets.

The major changes from end market value-added sales information previously reported include the following:

  • Creating a new semiconductor end market, the majority of which was previously reported in consumer electronics;
  • Combining aerospace and defense into a single end market;
  • Expanding the previously reported automotive electronics end market to contain all automotive-related end market sales; and
  • Establishing a telecom and data center end market, which includes end market sales previously reported in telecommunications infrastructure and select segments of consumer electronics.

Going forward the Company will report value-added sales information for the following end markets:

  • Semiconductor;
  • Industrial;
  • Aerospace and defense;
  • Automotive;
  • Energy;
  • Consumer electronics;
  • Telecom and data center; and
  • Other

To facilitate discussions with investors and the upcoming review of second quarter earnings results, the Company is including historical data recast into the new end markets for the first quarter of 2019 and the full year of 2018 as part of this press release.
