James Sykes | Appia Energy Exploration Update for Alces Lake High-Grade Rare Earth Property
James Sykes, the Vice President of Exploration and Development with Appia Energy provides an update on the 2018 exploration plans for the company’s Alces Lake Rare Earth Element property. Alces Lake has already demonstrated some of the highest-grade REE occurrences known in Saskatchewan with grades comparable to those encountered in other world-class deposits. REE supply is scarce outside of China but is critical for use in magnets and batteries. The electrical vehicle revolution and the corresponding increase in the number of permanent magnet motors is a main driver of the demand for increased and a more jurisdictionally-stable supply of Rare Earth Elements.
